Brown has a need-blind admission policy for all first-year applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. This means that their ability to pay for their education will not be a factor in the admission decision. And, if admitted, Brown will meet 100% of a undergraduate student's financial aid eligibility.
If you are a first-year applicant from the U.S., it is important that you apply for financial aid if the cost of attending Brown exceeds or will exceed what you and your parents can reasonably contribute toward the cost of your education. Financial aid is renewable for all four undergraduate years, assuming your eligibility continues. You must reapply for financial aid every year.
Transfer and international students are admitted to Brown under a need-aware admission policy, which means that their financial need will be a factor in the admission decision. To be considered for financial assistance at any time during their undergraduate years at Brown, transfer and international applicants must apply for financial aid when they first apply for admission.
